　　无线传感器网络是由分散在实体空间内的数千个微型自主传感器(或节点)所组成的网络。这些传感器采用高效方式链接，透过射频(RF)波进行点对点通讯，藉由射频波监控并通报本机状态或状况，如温度、震动、压力、污染物、动作等。这些智能型传感器可自动管理制程，除非发生无法透过智能节点或从远程启动人为命令修正的制程故障，否则一般不需要人为介入操作。
